In
real life, windows are transparent. They are made of
glass, and you can see through them - if they weren't,
we probably wouldn't be very happy. On our PC's, however,
we have become accustomed to treating windows as solid
squares. We view one window at a time - if we're working
in the word processor window, we need to minimize it
before we can view the browser window or the email
client window. It's not particularly flexible, but
that's what there is - unless you use Windows Minimizer
and Fader, of course.
With this tool, you
can make any window transparent - and you can
set the level to fade it as much or as little
as you want. This is particularly useful when
you need to be able to see two windows at once. Let's say you're going
back and forth between two application, perhaps copying text from one
to the other. Minimizing and maximising the windows can be annoying -
but when one of them is transparent, you don't need to! You can simply
keep both maximized, and see through one to the other.
